Botox Injections & Treatments
BOTOX® has been used therapeutically for more than 17 years to treat a variety of medical conditions. It is approved in more than 75 countries and remains the most studied botulinum toxin and one of the most widely researched medicines in the world. In 2002, the same formulation under the label BOTOX® Cosmetic was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of moderate to severe facial lines and severe sweating.
When properly administered by an experienced physician, you can still smile, frown and look surprised without bothersome lines between your brows (glabella), near your eyes or on your forehead. At MD Laser Medicine & Surgery, all BOTOX® treatments are administered strictly by Dr. Banda, who is a highly trained and experienced injector with the required expertise to administer the treatment for an effective yet natural result. Men and women of varying ages and all ethnicities and skin types can safely benefit from the results of BOTOX® treatment. Schedule your consultation with Dr. Banda to begin your treatment today.
HOW BOTOX® WORKS (Accordion 1)
During treatment, very low does of BOTOX® are administered through a few tiny injections directly into the muscles responsible for fine lines and wrinkles. By blocking the release of a chemical that causes these muscles to contract, BOTOX® enables them to relax. The effects are very localized and when administered by an experienced physician do not affect your ability to smile, laugh, or otherwise show expression.
AREAS TREATABLE WITH BOTOX® (Accordion 2)
BOTOX® is approved and effective for treating bothersome lines between your brows (glabella), near your eyes and on your forehead. For patients bothered by excessive sweating, BOTOX® may be safely administered to the underarms.
WHAT TO EXPECT (Accordion 3)
BOTOX® is a quick and minimally invasive procedure consisting of a few tiny injections. Dr. Banda will determine exactly where to administer the injections to achieve the best results for you. No anesthesia is required, though an anesthetic cream is available for use prior to injection. The entire treatment takes about 15 minutes and there is no downtime afterward. Discomfort is brief and minimal, if at all.
