Clement Banda, M.D., is the founder and medical director of MD Laser Medicine & Surgery.  Drawing on more than 20 years of medical experience, Dr. Banda has transformed MD Laser Medicine & Surgery into a leading provider of minimally-invasive cosmetic laser and vein restoration procedures, including Smartlipo™ and endovenous laser ablation.

With a medical degree from the University of Zimbabwe (1989) and post-doctoral training from Michigan State University (1994) and George Washington University (1995), Dr. Banda's medical practice is focused on the specialties of  Cosmetic Dermatology and Phlebology.  As an early adopter in the emergence of laser medicine and surgery as a medical specialty, Dr. Banda has amassed industry-leading training in the latest laser procedures such as Smartlipo™, endovenous laser ablation (also known as EVLA and EVLT™) and fractional resurfacing. He is board certified by the American Board of Laser Surgery in Dermatologic Laser Surgery, the American Board of Phlebology and the American Board of Physician Specialties.   Dr. Banda is also recognized as a Smartlipo-certified physician by Cynosure, the makers of Smartlipo™.

A fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine & Surgery (ASLMS) and a professional member of the American College of Phlebology (ACP), the American Venous Forum (AVF), the American Medical Association(AMA) and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), Dr. Banda has been profiled on American Health & Beauty and featured in Howard Magazine and Baltimore Magazine. Dr. Banda enjoys home improvement projects and preparing gourmet vegetarian meals. He maintains a home orchard and a vegetable garden.
